I stopped a police officer in a square in Amsterdam to ask directions and he started off speaking to me English.

When he couldn’t place the street I was looking for (Oranjeplein), he called in on his radio, speaking in Dutch, then came back to me speaking in Spanish.

When I asked him how he knew I spoke Spanish, he said he could hear it in my accent.

Then I woke up.
